One amazing thing about being a blogger is that you make friends with so many amazing people. Two of those people are Jess and Teagan from FictionNoChaser, who nominated me for the Mystery Blogger Award. I can’t even begin to say how amazing and thoughtful it was of them to nominate me. I still see myself as a smaller blogger, and didn’t imagine that I would be included in any kind of awards in the blogging community until much later on.

3 Things About Me

---

The first thing that i want to tell you guys about me is something that I still can’t hardly believe myself, is that I am officially a college graduate. As of Friday May 18th, I have dual bachelor’s in Accounting and Forensic Accounting. I never have to go back to school if I don’t want to, and that’s still something I’m trying to get myself to remember. 

Like many book bloggers, I don’t like to just consume stories in book form. A lot of my time is spent watching movies and TV shows on Netflix, Hulu, Funimation, and Amazon Prime Video. Here are some recs for those of you looking for something to watch (I’ll only recommend shows I’ve watched for a long time):

Yeah, I watch a lot of shows. But I’m not going to school anymore, and I’m currently unemployed so *shrugs*. 

The third and final fun fact is that I love to do pretty much every form of art. Some of which I enjoy more than others (drawing, list making [this is definitely art], and writing), but I also love painting, pottery, jewelry making, and photography.

What 3 books would you want with you if you were stranded on a deserted island?

Of course, this is legitimately THE toughest question. I guess I would say Graceling by Kristin Cashore, Fire by Kristin Cashore, and The Bear and The Nightingale by Katherine Arden. I choose these because they’re picturesque, engrossing, and every time I read them they transport me somewhere else.

These are all favorites of mine. Other contenders might also be Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey, Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones, The Diviners by Libba Bray, and A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. The reason these ones weren’t chosen were because a) they’re creepy and ain’t nobody trying to read creepy books alone on a random island, b) Most of these choices would be boring after so many rereads, c) I like my main choices better.

What “world setting” from a book would you most want to visit?

Oh man, this is a TOUGH one. Wintersong and The Bear and The Nightingale sound dreamy but way too cold. I think going into the future where Leviathan Wakes takes place would be a BAD TIME because ain’t nobody trying to be infected by vomit zombies. The world of Throne of Glass or ACOTAR might be interesting, but I feel like I would want to go to The Dells from Fire by Kristin Cashore. I would also want to be a “monster”. They have people and animals that are too beautiful and clever for their own good, amazing castles, and the rolling hills are just asking for romance. I could imagine spending my days shooting down Raptor Monsters with Fire and Brigan and riding horses and taking care of all of Archer’s children (lol). 

What’s your favorite part of running a blog?

There are many benefits to running a blog. I think being able to leave a mark on the world and to let people hear your voice is a really amazing thing, but I think my favorite thing about blogging is the friends you make. The girls who nominated me for this award are amazing, and we didn’t really start actually interacting much until recently. I’d always read her blog posts, but as of recently they’ve been giving me book recs and commenting on my posts. They are just two of the amazing people I’ve met through the blogging community.

Which literary pet would you want to adopt?

This is a tough choice, because there are so many creatures from books that I’d love to adopt, but I’ll stick with the first thing that came to mind and that’s Fleetfoot from the Throne of Glass series. She’s going to be the only thing left alive at the end of Kingdom of Ash, she steals bacon, and is the sweetest little bean to ever exist. 

How do you choose your books?

To be entirely honest, I am the epitome of a mood reader. This really works against me all the time, because I’ll be in the mood for a book one day, get halfway through it, and then not be in the mood for it again. This is how I end up with so many books on my currently reading. So much so that I had to make a shelf on Goodreads called To Be Finished Later.

So what I usually do is try and decide what mood I’m in, and then IDEALLY I will look for a book I already own and try to decide from those. Another thing I take into consideration is whether I want to read physical, kindle, or audiobooks as well. Out of the three forms, I consume kindle books the fastest. Usually this is the format I end up going with. I actually have a running spreadsheet on my owned kindle books to help me decide what to read.
