Monthly/Weekly Challenges

Officially back from hiatus! | Updates

Hey Ya’ll!

I thought I’d update you all on what I’ve been doing since you last heard from me – What’s going on in my life, what I’ve read, what I’m currently reading, and what I plan to read. Let’s get into it 🙂

Life Updates and What I’ve Read

So I’ve officially moved in! I just got the last of my furniture today, actually. Things have been insane – every minute of free time that I’ve gotten I’ve spent wiping down blinds, and cleaning floors, and taking cats to the vet, among many, many, other things and many things that STILL need done. But I think I’m at a point now where things are starting to slow down, and so I feel good about coming back to my online life here.

I’ve gotten more reading done than I expected, mostly recently, because I’ve really gotten into listening to audiobooks. I never really used to like them but after listening to Daisy Jones and the Six I’ve just been listening to them nonstop.

Here’s all the books I’ve read over my “break”…

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay  Kristoff

Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines

Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke

You can expect review for these to go up within the next month.

What I’m Currently Reading

Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart

I’m about an hour away from finishing this right now, and I’m enjoying it so far (although I’m a little confused at times – with the shifting timelines it’s hard to keep track of what’s going on).

Circe by Madeline Miller

I’m giving this one another go. I really think I will love it once I get into it, I just didn’t have the patience to take my time with it the first time around and I feel like I’m in a good place to do so now. I can tell ya’ll that I’m LOVING the writing style, the mythology is awesome, and I’m ready for Circe to mess up everyone’s lives.

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

I got pretty into this one for a minute there, but I put it down and haven’t gotten back around to it. I’m hoping to finish this one up soon.

To Read Soon

I didn’t stick to my hiatus TBR because I didn’t read any physical books, but I am hoping to get to all of those sometime soon. I am also planning on participating in the Buzzword-A-Thon this month – the buzzword is “You”. Here is a list of books that I am considering a possibility to read for the readathon.

buzzword-a-thon

P.S. I Like You by Kasie West

Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker

The Young Elites by Marie Lu

Without You by Yesenia Vargas

History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins

When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger

I Know Who You Are by Alice Feeney

Made for You by Melissa Marr

There are other books that would qualify for this challenge, but this is already a ton of choices and since I’ve only read a handful of books after being away for two months I am trying to be a reasonable person and not make a crazy TBR I know I’ll never complete. I think I might put up a blog post around the time of the readathon though, with other suggestions in different genres if that is something you all would be interested in.

I’m pretty sure my schedule for posting before was Saturday and Monday, and I think a better bet will be Saturday and Wednesday just to space them out a little more and to give myself a little more time between posts. So on Wednesday I suggest you all stop by, as I’m posting about recommendations for Summer reads.

Thank you all so much for reading, and I look forward to getting back into a regular posting schedule. I’ll see you all on Wednesday, but until then you can follow my updates over on Goodreads. 🙂
